Spain’s Port of Huevla welcomed Saga Holidays’ Saga Sapphire and more than 600 passengers and 400 crew on 30 November.

Arriving after a call in Lisbon, Portugal, Saga Sapphire berthed at the South Wharf at 9am, where its passengers were welcomed with Origin Condado of Huelva wine.

Around half of the passengers took organised shore excursions to El Rocio, Doñana and the Rio Tinto mines, and Seville. Others visited the city of Huelva using the port’s shuttle bus service.

Saga Sapphire departed Huelva at 5pm bound for Santander, Spain. Prior to her departure, passengers were able to watch a historical re-enactment of the America Discover, which was performed by the Alota del Tinto theatre group.

This year, Huelva has welcomed six cruise calls, including the maiden visit of Azamara Club Cruises’ Azamara Journey, and is set to host 21 in 2016.
