European stone wool insulation manufacturer Paroc has developed new Light Marine solutions to provide naval architects and shipyards with new lightweight solutions for fire-insulated decks and bulkheads.

Among the first to receive Light Marine treatment are Paroc’s solutions for A-class steel decks and bulkheads, including PAROC Marine Navis Slab 60. The solutions will weigh significantly less, creating new opportunities for shipyard specifiers in terms of lightship and deadweight tonnage.

Like Paroc Marine’s existing insulation products, the Light Marine solutions will also be easy to install, offer numerous facing options and meet high fire, thermal and acoustic performance requirements. They will also be certified as non-combustible in accordance with the International Maritime Organization’s FTP Code Part 1.
