Oceania Cruises is to offer a new 180-day ‘Around the World’ cruise onboard Insignia in early 2017.

Sailing to six continents, 36 countries, 98 ports and 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the 180-day voyage will begin in the US port of Miami on 6 January 2017 and is the fourth in the line’s series of world cruises. This is the first time Oceania Cruises will call at ports in Ireland, Spain and Turkey during world cruises.

“This is a landmark itinerary for Oceania Cruises. It’s designed for travellers who want to immerse themselves in the diverse cultures found throughout the world, and believes each destination should be savoured and enjoyed in a leisurely manner,” stated Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Oceania Cruises. “This revolutionary approach to world cruising has generated an extremely positive response from our guests, and the fact we are now preparing a fourth iteration of this epic 180-day voyage is a testament to its appeal.”

Initially, Insignia will head to the Caribbean before continuing on a southern course to South America, passing through the Panama Canal and calling at several ports on the Pacific coast of Central America. Insignia will then cruise the Pacific en route to the Hawaiian Islands, French Polynesia, American Samoa, Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. After various calls in Australia and New Zealand, the ship will head to Indonesia, pass through the Karimata Strait to Malaysia and then call at Brunei, the Philippines, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, India, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

After cruising the Red Sea to Jordan and Egypt, Insignia will then pass through the Suez Canal to Israel and southern Turkey, before visiting coastal cities in Greece, Italy, Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, France and several ports in Ireland. The ship will then cross the Atlantic to Newfoundland and Quebec in Canada, the New England coast, New York City and overnight in historic Charleston, South Carolina before returning to Miami on 6 July.

During the voyage, guests will be able to enjoy 16 overnights in ports such as Bali, Indonesia; Hong Kong, China; Hanoi in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Singapore; Bankok, Thailand; Mumbai, India; Jerusalem, Israel; Luxor in Egypt; Seville, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Bordeaux, France; New York, US; St. George, Bermuda; Charleston, South Carolina. The ship will also spend two nights in Yangon, Myanmar.

In addition, guests will be able to enjoy five exclusive shoreside events including the ‘Volcanoes National Park & Volcano Winery’ tour in Hilo, Hawaii; the ‘Polynesian Lagoon Luncheon’ in Bora Bora, French Polynesia; an Aberdeen Marina Club Dinner in Hong Kong; the ‘Singapore Flyer: Dinner in the Sky’ event in Singapore; and an ‘Evening at Traditional Seville Fair’ in Seville, Spain.
