Norwegian Cruise Line’s largest ship, Norwegian Epic, has arrived in Barcelona to begin her first season sailing from the Spanish port.

Between 3 May and 22 November, Norwegian Epic will offer seven-night cruises from Barcelona or Civitavecchia in Italy to destinations in the Western Mediterranean including Naples and Livorno, Italy; Cannes, France; and Palma in Mallorca, Spain.

From 29 November 2015 to 7 April 2016, Norwegian Epic will sail alternate ten-night voyages to Morocco, the Canary Islands, Madeira in Italy, and Málaga in Spain. The ship will also offer ten-, 11- or 12-night Western Mediterranean voyages that call in Mallorca, Spain, as well as Sardinia and Sicily in Italy.

On 20 September, the ship will sail from Barcelona to Southampton, via Cartagena and Málaga in Spain, and Lisbon in Portugal. This will mark the first time the ship has visited the English port since her inaugural celebration in June 2010.

Following a 22-day drydock in France, Norwegian Epic will embark on a seven-night Iberian Peninsula cruise from Southampton to Barcelona on 18 October. She will visit Vigo in Spain, Lisbon, Málaga and Cartagena.

Meanwhile, guests can join Norwegian Epic on 19 December for a nine-night Canary Islands & Morocco itinerary, or leave Barcelona for a six-night New Year cruise on 28 December.

“We are very excited to bring Norwegian Epic back to Europe,” said Andy Stuart, Norwegian Cruise Line’s president and COO. “With her innovative accommodations and wide array of dining, spa and leisure amenities, she truly is the best ship to sail the Med and beyond.”

Guests sailing on Norwegian Epic will be able to enjoy two new Broadway shows including Burn the Floor, which has already debuted on Norwegian’s Breakaway-class ships, and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert – The Musical. Based on the Oscar Award-winning film, the musical will open in October, along with a new entertainment venue developed through an exclusive partnership with the owners of Liverpool’s The Cavern Club.

“The new world-class entertainment offerings that guests can enjoy will even further elevate the guest experience, giving them more options to create their perfect cruise holiday,” said Stuart.
