Norwegian Cruise Line will be showcasing its newly refurbished Norwegian Jewel in Sydney, Australia for the first time this December.

The ship will make her Sydney debut with updated spaces, redesigned staterooms and new  entertainment offerings, having just undergone the company’s most extensive enhancement in 2018 as part of The Norwegian Edge fleet modernisation programme

Nearly all the vessel’s restaurants, bars and lounges were updated, with two new venues replacing the Sky High Bar and FYZZ Cabaret Lounge – The Pit Stop, an all-American 1950s-style bar and Bliss Ultra Lounge, which offers late-night entertainment in a modern setting.

All the ship’s 1,188 staterooms were upgraded with new televisions, USB outlets, carpet, artwork and furniture. The Haven by Norwegian received updates to the courtyard, additional cabanas on the sun deck and new finishes for all suites and villas. The ship also offers two new Haven Deluxe Owner’s Suites, which are nearly 1,200 square feet and feature 567-square-foot balconies and two private jacuzzies. Each suite accommodates up to four guests.

The atrium has also been given an entirely new look with a custom-designed chandelier, updated flooring, refurbished reception desks, relaxed banquette seating and a large television screen.

Guests will be able to watch two new shows – ‘Rock You Tonight’, showcasing the best of the 1970s and ‘Velvet’, an exclusive version of the Australian hit musical with disco classics, circus acrobatics and cabaret that features X Factor UK’s Brenda Edwards and The Voice finalist Frenchie Davis.

“Norwegian Jewel’s complete renovation showcases our dedication to providing guests with quality experiences across the fleet and around the world,” said Andy Stuart, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Not only are we revealing updated designs and accommodations throughout the ship, but guests will also enjoy new venues and three incredibly exciting shows, one of which premieres for the first time on Norwegian Jewel.”

Norwegian Jewel will spend winter 2018 and spring 2019 offering seven- to 19-day itineraries from Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore, before joining Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Joy in Alaska, US for the summer.
