MSC Cruises is to deploy MSC Splendida to China in May 2018.

The 4,363-guest MSC Splendida will be one of the largest and most modern cruise ships to operate in the region and will call at popular destinations in China, Japan and Korea. The ship will join MSC Lirica, which has been based in China since May 2016 and is currently homeporting in Tianjin for North China’s winter cruise season.

“Deploying MSC Splendida to the shores of China is a further testimony of our commitment to this key growth market,” said Gianni Onorato, MSC Cruises’ CEO. “In fact, since it came into service MSC Splendida has been the most popular ship for Chinese and other Asian guests cruising the Mediterranean with us. MSC Splendida represents a second, strong step towards meeting the growing demand for our unique product and ultra-modern ships by Chinese guests.”

MSC Splendida will undergo a significant interior refurbishment in late 2017 to enable her to introduce several new amenities and the MSC Yacht Club to the Chinese market. Offering various private facilities, MSC Yacht Club is an exclusive ‘ship-within-a-ship’ concept that enables guests to benefit from services such as a 24-hour personal butler, dedicated concierge reception, and priority boarding and disembarkation.
