MBNA Thames Clippers is to trial a new passenger ferry service from Canary Wharf in London to Gravesend in Kent, south-east England this September.
Running from 11-14 September, the Gravesend trial will be free to all passengers and will be used to gauge potential demand for the service. In return for the free journey, trial passengers will be asked to complete a survey about their experiences and expectations for the service if it was to become permanent.
MNBA Thames Clippers’ new service will take passengers from Gravesend Town Pier at 7:15am each morning, arriving at Canary Wharf Pier 48 minutes later at 8:03am. The ferry will then call at Tower Pier at 8:13am, Blackfriars Pier at 8:19am and Embankment Pier at 8:25am. Each evening, the ferry will depart Embankment Pier at 5:40pm, calling at Blackfriars Pier at 5:46pm, Tower Pier at 5:52pm, Canary Wharf Pier at 6:02pm and arriving back in Gravesend at 6:50pm. The only disembarkation point on the evening service will be Gravesend.
MBNA Thames Clippers’ high-speed catamarans operate on the River Thames in London and range from 25-metre-long vessels up to 38-metre-long boats with 220 seats. Each boat is equipped with a small café-bar with a small selection of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, as well as snacks.
