Marella Cruises has started refurbishment on its latest and first adult-only ship, Marella Explorer 2. The eight-week dry-dock will see the ship being refitted with new food and beverage venues, as well as a Champneys Spa.

The vessel’s new spaces will include: The 19th Hole, a golf-themed bar offering cocktails, craft beers and golf-buggy seating; Flutes, a champagne and prosecco bar; Nonna’s, a traditional Italian restaurant; and The Beach Cove, an al fresco experience offering barbecue-style meals.

The onboard Champneys Spa will offer a full-service thermal suite, treatment suites with their own showers and a beauty salon.

At 265.5 metres long and 32.2 metres wide, Marella Explorer 2 is Marella Cruises’ second Explorer ship. The ship has capacity for 1,814 passengers, who can be accommodated in 907 cabins, of which almost 40% have balconies.

Marella Explorer 2 will enter service on 2 April 2019, sailing from Palma, Majorca.
