Northern Ireland-based MJM Group, which has completed multiple interior fit-out projects onboard cruise ships and passenger ferries, has opened a new office in Southampton, UK as part of its ongoing expansion in the marine and land-based sectors.

The company hopes the Southampton base will make it easier to deliver services to both existing and prospective customers, and develop in a new market.

“MJM Group has established itself as the world’s leading interior fit-out company for the marine and land-based industries and we are delighted that our growth over the past five years is set to continue,” said Gary Annett, MJM Group’s chief executive. “Establishing ourselves in Southampton is a strategic decision to have a presence in the heart of the UK’s cruise industry and to develop stronger links with the UK’s strengthening construction industry. Our new sales and marketing functions will focus on the implementation of our company corporate plans.”

MJM Group has also created a new sales and marketing team. Darren Smith, who has more than 25 years of manufacturing, surveying and business development experience in the marine industry, will assume the role of project sales and surveying manager. Smith will be supported by Charles Clayton, who also brings more than 25 years of experience in joinery, project surveying, estimating and management. Meanwhile, Sharon Doran has been appointed to lead the marketing efforts, brining 20 years of experience in a range of industries including the marine sector.

“We are delighted to bring Darren, Charles and Sharon into MJM Group,” said Annett. “Their combined experience with bring fresh thinking and a renewed focus to our ongoing business development.”
