Holland America Line’s Veendam will open the 29th cruise season at Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada on 27 April 2017.

Veendam will berth at the Marco Polo Cruise Terminal at 8am and remain docked until 5pm, giving her 1,200 guests plenty of time to explore the city of Saint John.

The 2017 cruise season will be one of the longest on Port Saint John’s record, with the final ship calling on 1 November. In total, more than 144,000 cruise passengers and 58,000 crew will visit the port during 64 scheduled cruise ship calls.

Highlights of the season will include 12 double cruise ship days and four triple ship days in September and October, as well as an inaugural call from Royal Caribbean International’s Vision of the Seas on 14 September. Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic will also make two calls – on 30 September and 4 October – and Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas will make four visits. She is the largest cruise ship to berth at Port Saint John to date.

“Our Port Saint John, operations group, Meet & Greet volunteers and business development and marketing staff have been working in concert to ensure the guest and ship experience here exceeds expectations,” said Jim Quinn, president and CEO of Port Saint John. “We know that our industry and community partners are also gearing up to welcome the more than 200,000 guests and crew we are expecting this year.”
