The patented Heineken BrewLock system has won both the Drinks Innovation of the Year and overall Supreme Champion accolades at the Drinks International Travel Retail Awards 2016.

Specifically designed for the cruise and ferry industry to guarantee brewery quality draught beer in onboard bars, Heineken BrewLock is now available on more than 90 vessels worldwide. The system offers an easy fit, multi-layered 20K PET keg, removing the need for additional gas and regulator systems. It is also 25% lighter than regular steel draught systems and can be fully disposed, significantly reducing logistical, quality and cost barriers for the cruise industry.

Heineken has also expanded the range of brands available in the BrewLock system in global duty free to include Heineken Light and Strongbow Apple Ciders. The existing range covers Heineken and Newcastle Brown Ale.

“We are proud and delighted to win these awards with BrewLock,” said Koos Vrijlandt, manager of global duty free at Heineken. “It is a powerful innovation that demonstrates the ability of Heineken to create exciting new solutions, delivering a stronger consumer experience and significant operational and logistical advantages for our customers amongst the world’s leading cruise and ferry lines.”
