Harmony of the Seas is to feature Royal Caribbean International’s first interactive water park for young children, the tallest slide at sea and three spiralling slides when she debuts next year.

Designed for toddlers and young children, Splashaway Bay will feature sea creature water cannons, twisting slides, an oversized drench bucket and a multi-platform jungle gym.

Guests can also try the Ultimate Abyss, a ten-storey slide with a 100ft drop that starts in the Pool and Sports Zone at the ship’s aft and ends in the Boardwalk neighborhood below. They can also ride on a trio of slides – Cyclone, Typhoon and Supercell – which spiral five decks above the open-air Central Park at the centre of the ship.

Like her sister ships, Harmony of the Seas will be configured with Royal Caribbean’s exclusive seven neighbourhood concept, which includes Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone. Other onboard features will include a handcrafted carousel, a Starbucks cafe, a new classic games arcade and a climbing play area.

The ship will offer 2,747 staterooms that are larger than those on other Oasis-class ships, as well as studios for single travellers and new Virtual Balconies in all interior staterooms, providing guests with a real-time view of the ocean. Meanwhile, suite guests will be able to access exclusive new areas including a suite lounge, a private restaurant called Coastal Kitchen and a full-service Suite Sun Zone sun deck. Guests will also be able to dine in new speciality restaurants Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Sabor Taqueria and Tequila Bar, and Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine.

Harmony of the Seas will also be the first Oasis-class ship to feature the innovative technologies used onboard the line’s Quantum-class ships. These include the Bionic Bar with robotic bartenders, the Royal WOWBands with RFID technology, and VOOM, the fastest internet at sea.

Due to debut in May 2016, Harmony of the Seas will sail an inaugural summer season in Europe, offering seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries featuring calls to Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Provence, France; Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples, Italy. In November, the newbuild will arrive in Port Everglades in Florida, US, to offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings.
