Holland America Line (HAL) is to deploy UIEvolution’s UIE ExperienceManager platform to Nieuw Amsterdam to improve in-cabin entertainment for both guests and crew.

UIE ExperienceManager is designed to manage video-on-demand, live TV, music and ship services and will enable HAL to customise in-cabin entertainment and digital displays throughout the ship in real time.

The interactive entertainment platform will be implemented by VIDELIO-HMS, which will upgrade the ship’s current in-room TVs with a range of video, audio and onboard services. The company will leverage the ship’s existing network and infrastructure to save both time and money.

“HAL understands the true benefits of using technology to increase and engage passengers at all levels,” said Travis Beaven, CPO at UIEvolution. “The ability to retrofit a leading-edge solution with existing infrastructure is remarkable for the industry, and we are proud to be able to offer this to our cruise partners. It’s all part of our efforts to make every part of the cruise experience be amazing and the very best in the industry.”
