This May, the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) welcomed the eight millionth passenger to the Victoria Cruise Ship Terminal.

The passenger arrived at the port onboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Joy and was welcomed by Lekwungen Dancers before being taken on a tour of the city. The passenger and their spouse were also given a gift basket of products from Victoria and the Vancouver Island region.

“Each million-passenger milestone is a significant moment for any port of call, and we’re excited to welcome our eight millionth passenger this early in our 2019 season,” said Lindsay Gaunt, director of Cruise Development for GVHA. “We’ve worked with our local partners to ensure that the passenger and their spouse are able to choose from a selection of experiences to enjoy the best of the city during their visit.”

Victoria Cruise Ship Terminal at Ogden Point will welcome over 260 calls and 700,000 passengers in 2019. It expects to welcome its 10 millionth passenger by 2021.
