Fincantieri has started interior outfitting work onboard Carnival Cruise Line’s new Carnival Panorama after floating the vessel out of dry dock at its Marghera yard in Italy on 6 December.

The ship was launched during a traditional float-out ceremony, which involved a commemorative silver coin being welded to the last deck of the ship.

Antonella Cazzin, who has worked for Fincantieri for more than 35 years, served as godmother during the ceremony. Other notable attendees included Ben Clement, senior vice president of Carnival Cruise Line; Marco Scaramuccia, project manager for Carnival Panorama; and Antonio Quintano, director of the Marghera shipyard.

Scheduled for delivery in autumn 2019, the 133,500gt Carnival Panorama has been designed as a sister to Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon, which were completed at Fincantieri’s yards in Monfalcone and Marghera in April 2016 and March 2018 respectively.
