Emerald Waterways has launched three new Europe-based river cruise ships between April and May 2017.

The three newbuilds are named Emerald Destiny, Emerald Liberté and Emerald Radiance and together, they bring Emerald Waterways’ fleet of Star Ships up to seven.

Christened on 9 May in Vienna, Austria by godmother and Canadian broadcaster Coleen Christie, the 186-passenger Emerald Destiny will cruise on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. Emerald Liberté was custom-built to sail the Rhône and Saône rivers in France and will offer a new ‘Sensations of Southern France’ itinerary from Lyon to Avignon. Meanwhile, Emerald Radiance will embark on roundtrips from Porto, Portugal and offers a serenity pool on her Sun Deck.

“We are thrilled to unveil the Emerald Liberté, Radiance and Destiny, as we continue to build on our fleet of innovative river ships,” said Lisa Norton, vice president of brand management at Emerald Waterways North America. “When building our latest ships, it was important to listen to our guests, who have told us they love our relaxed, contemporary design.”
