Dream Cruises has officially opened the world’s first permanent eSports facility at sea onboard World Dream.

Situated in the ship’s virtual reality games area, the ESC Experience Lab, the new 1,700-square-foot eSports venue allows guests to learn the basics of video games that involve intensive mental and physical training via complimentary trial games and workshops led by professionals. Alternatively, up to 80 people can watch a maximum of 10 players competing in games.

Any eSports event held at the facility can be streamed live to LED screens and monitors throughout World Dream, such as those in the 999-seat Zodiac Theatre, the lobby, Silk Road Chinese Restaurant, cabins and the outdoor theatre in Zouk Beach Club.

“We are excited to announce that the world’s first dedicated eSports facility at sea is now available on World Dream, where professional and recreational e-players can compete in state-of-the-art setting with a great variety of games,” said Thatcher Brown, president of Dream Cruises. “This initiative also supports the Hong Kong government and Tourism Board’s commitment to promote eSports in the region. We look forward to inspiring our guests from millennials to the young in spirit in these exciting eSports activities.”
