Genting Hong Kong is to roll out Wirecard’s digital Quick Pay – Self-Checkout System on cruise ships in its Dream Cruises and Star Cruises brands.

Guests onboard Star Cruises’ SuperStar Virgo and Dream Cruises’ World Dream and Genting Dream will soon be able to set up a Quick Pay account, so they can set pre-authorised spending limits for themselves and their travelling companions and track expenses throughout their cruise. They can also select the ‘Auto Pay’ function so their bill is automatically settled at the end of their cruise, or manually pay outstanding charges using the ‘Pay Now’ function.

Currently, guests can opt to pay via Alipay, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club, JCB and Union Pay. More methods will be added in the future.

“The guest experience onboard our Dream Cruises fleet is of primary importance and anywhere we can remove friction and streamline process is a great benefit to our passengers,” said Thatcher Brown, president of Dream Cruises. “Our partnership with Wirecard enables us to simplify one of the most maligned aspects of travel – lining up to settle the bill at the end of a vacation. With our Quick Pay – Self-Checkout System, our guests never need to see a queue and can settle their bill in the comfort of their own cabin – or anywhere else – by simply using their smartphone.”
