Disney Cruise Line is to make its first visits to Baie-Comeau, Saguenay and Québec City in Canada in 2018.

Disney Magic will call at the ports as part of its two new weeklong cruises from New York, US to Québec City in September. Both provide two full days in Québec City, as well as calls in Saguenay and Baie-Comeau. The vessel will arrive in Baie-Comeau on 25 and 30 September with around 2,713 passengers and 950 crew.

“Our team, along with everyone in the extended Cruise the Saint Lawrence Association family, has been working hard over the past several years to bring the cruise lines to Baie-Comeau,” said Reina Savoie, Baie-Comeau Cruises president. “Those efforts are now bearing fruit and increasingly earning the recognition of our industry peers. Northern destinations are exotic and their appeal to tourists is constantly growing. And with our high-quality hospitality, security protocols and tourist attractions, our friendly community and our beautiful wilderness, it’s a perfect package.”

Cruise the Saint Lawrence, the industry association that coordinates the nine ports on the Saint Lawrence, has been working hard to grow the cruise market in the region.

“The relationship with Disney Cruise Line is a real mark of confidence for our port of call member organisations, who place great importance on providing quality experiences to cruise passengers,” said association president Tony Boemi. “It also shows that our destination appeals to a young and family-oriented clientele.”
