Darwin to host 10,000 cruise guests over four weeks

Around 10,000 cruise passengers are expected to call in Darwin, Australia over the next four weeks.

Notable visitors over this period will include Coral Expeditions, Ponant and Silversea Cruises. The port will welcome the two largest vessels of 2019 when Princess Cruises’ Majestic Princess arrives with 3,560 guests on 2 April and Royal Caribbean International’s Explorer of the Seas calls with more than 4,000 passengers on 7 April.

In total, 75 cruise ships will have berthed in Darwin by the end of the season. This year, the cruise industry is expected to inject almost AUS$88 million (US$63 million) into the local economy.
