Elite Exhibitions has released the details of the speakers for the opening conference at its first-ever Cruise Ship Interiors Expo, which will be held in Miami, Florida from 18-20 June 2019.

Executives from the architecture and design sectors will set the tone for the rest of the event in the ‘Cruise Industry Outlook: Leaders Debate’.

Newton d’Souza, chair and associate professor of Interior Architecture at Florida International University, will moderate the holistic industry outlook conference. He has practiced as a professional architect, interior designer and educator.

Speaking at the session are: Stephen Fryers, consultant at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.; Colin Gant, vice president of Vessel Refurbishment at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings; Petu Kummala, senior director of Interior Design and Architecture at Carnival Cruise Line; and George Scammell, director of Interior Design at Princess Cruises.

“Expect the unexpected,” said Kummala. “There are many new projects in the works for Carnival Cruise Line, so I am confident we’ll have an interesting and exciting conversation.”

The event’s first conference session will cover the newbuild order book how shipyards can respond to capacity issues, recruitment challenges, growth in the expedition market and more.
