European river cruise operator CroisiEurope is to deploy an additional ship on the Rhône from April 2019 to cater for increased passenger demand.

Next year, four of the cruise line’s vessels will sail on the Rhône, offering various seven- and eight-day roundtrips from Lyon to other destinations in France.

“We’re delighted that the Rhône is growing in popularity but we’re not surprised,” said John Fair, CroisiEurope’s UK sales director. “Our Rhône cruises travel through some of the most beautiful and best preserved landscapes in France taking in the Camargue, the Ardèche Gorges and the Vercors Massif, as well as iconic cities such as Arles, Avignon, Montelimar and Lyon. With visits to world-class vineyards, ancient walled towns and France’s gastronomic capital, Lyon, a Rhône cruise really does offer something for everyone.”

One highlight of the 2019 Rhône season will be a new seven-day ‘gourmet’ voyage that will enable guests to explore the region’s culinary history and traditions.

“The new seven-day ‘gourmet’ cruise is exciting as it includes a number of really interesting food-related excursions that are complemented by the fabulous food served onboard,” said Gabrielle Alam, CroisiEurope’s head of UK Sales and Marketing. “It is definitely a cruise that gourmands will love.”
