River cruise operator CroisiEurope is to christen the new Amalia Rodrigues in Porto, Portugal on 20 March 2019.

Built at the Meuse and Sambre shipyard in Belgium, the three-deck Amalia Rodrigues will accommodate 132 passengers in 66 double-occupancy cabins, which all have air conditioning systems, a twin/double bed, private bathroom, a wardrobe, a flat-screen television, a hairdryer and a safe. There will be 58 cabins on the middle and upper decks that will have French balconies with large windows, as well as four suites. Two of the suites will be on the upper deck and have terraces.

Other onboard highlights will include a lounge, restaurant with panoramic windows, a shop, and a large sun deck with sun loungers and a swimming pool. All venues will be decorated with Mediterranean colours.

Amalia Rodrigues will be the sixth ship to join CroisiEurope’s fleet on the Douro river. From April to October, she will operate six- and eight-day itineraries from Porto through the Douro Valley, calling at Regua, Pinhao, Teron Vega, Barca d’Alva, Salamanca and Ferradosa.
