Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Bliss and AIDA Cruises’ AIDAnova will both make their maiden voyages from Columbus Cruise Centre Bremerhaven (CCCB) in Germany this year.
Norwegian Bliss will make her official cruise industry debut in April, while AIDAnova will launch from CCCB in November. Other highlights of the 2018 season will include simultaneous calls from four Phoenix Reisen vessels, the first visit of TUI Cruises’ new Mein Schiff 1, and an increase in the number of visiting cruise passengers. The rise follows a 2017, where CCCB handled 84 departures and 166,000 passengers. This year, the terminal will host 112 departures and 240,000 passengers.
Columbus Cruise Centre Wismar in northern Germany, is also set for a good year, after welcoming approximately 7,000 cruise passengers last season.
On 17 August 2017, the city witnessed the first-ever double call on 17 August, when CCCW welcomed both Fred. Olsen Cruise Line’s Balmoral and Saga Cruises’ Saga Pearl II. This meant the simultaneous arrival of over 1,700 passengers.
The 2018 season in Wismar will open on 14 April with the arrival of Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ Astoria.
