The Port of Cherbourg has welcomed a total of 18,976 cruise guests and 8,279 crew members since January.

The French port has already welcomed 13 cruise calls, including five unscheduled visits from Saga Holiday’s Saga Pearl II on 14 and 15 January, Paul Gauguin’s Marco Polo on 30 March and Holland America Line’s Eurodam and Ryndam, which both berthed in the city on 5 May and opted to stay an additional day due to bad weather and rough seas. Seabourn Cruise Line’s Seabourn Quest also made an unexpected, two-day call at the Quai de Normandie on 20 May.

In addition, Cherbourg has welcomed four inaugural calls from Saga Holidays’ Saga Sapphire, Royal Caribbean International’s Serenade of the Seas, MSC Cruises’ MSC Sinfonia and Noble Caledonia’s Ocean Nova.

Cherbourg is expected to host another 11 cruise calls before the end of October, including six inaugural visits and three overnights by Hebridean Island Cruise’ Hebridean Princess in July and August. Costa Cruises’ Costa Fortuna and Costa Pacifica will also embark passengers at the port in September. Six of the 11 visits were inaugural calls.

Next year, Cherbourg has scheduled 26 calls from March to November.
