Carnival Corporation has launched OceanView Mobile, an app that enables people to watch its original US travel series and other travel programmes for free while they are onboard its ships, or onshore.

The new app is part of Carnival Corporation’s strategy to share ‘authentic experiential content’ that increases awareness and demand for cruise vacations. Not only can viewers choose from more than 150 full episodes of Carnival Corporation’s ‘Ocean Originals’ series, but they can also watch various videos from its nine individual cruise brands. These videos showcase the ship design and construction process, share insights into how world-renowned chefs create culinary programmes, offer behind-the-scenes explorations of onboard attractions and recaps of ship christenings.

“Our 'Ocean Originals' already are the most popular travel series on TV in the US, and now travel fans around the world can watch their favourite shows anytime they want, from wherever they are – whether that's at home, on the go or on our ships,” said John Padgett, chief experience and innovation officer for Carnival Corporation. “Our ability to extend consumer brand engagement from broadcast TV to all major video-on-demand platforms, all major over-the-top platforms and all major mobile platforms is unprecedented in the travel industry. This allows us to showcase the extraordinary experiences available on cruise vacations to millions of potential guests, and to help them get excited about where they'll go next, whenever they prefer.”
