Australian writer, performer and comedian Jean Kittson christened Scenic’s latest river cruise ship, Scenic Azure, in Portugal on 29 April.

Able to accommodate 96 guests in 48 staterooms and suites with private balconies, Scenic Azure is the first river cruise ship to be purpose-built to sail on the Douro River in Portugal. The 80-metre-long ship offers the same all-inclusive onboard amenities and services that are available on all of Scenic’s Space-Ships. This includes a vitality spa on the Sun Deck, butler service and unlimited complimentary beverages, and much more.

Scenic Azure was christened during a riverside ceremony, which was also attended by Scenic founder and chairman Glen Moroney.

“It is an honour and thrill to be asked to be the godmother to the stunning Scenic Azure,” said Kittson.

Scenic now has a fleet of 17 luxury river cruise ships offering itineraries throughout Europe, Russia and South East Asia.
