Walt Disney Company veteran Anthony Connelly will take over as president of Disney Cruise Line and New Vacation Operations when Karl Holz retires next February.

Holz, who confirmed his retirement plans this week, will have served as president for nine years when he steps down on 15 February 2018. During his time in the role, Holz led several key growth businesses for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts as he oversaw Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney, Disneyland Paris and Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa.

Connelly will begin transitioning into his new role this October to ensure a smooth handover. The former executive vice president of operations at Disney Cruise Line will take the helm at a pivotal time, overseeing ongoing planning for two new ship builds, which are planned to launch in 2021 and 2023.
