Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) has introduced a new pass to provide visiting cruise ship crew members with discounts in various shops and restaurants in the city.

Crew members will be offered discounts in participating Asian shops and restaurants in the Zeedijk area, which is located in the centre of Amsterdam’s Chinese district around 15 minutes walk from the cruise terminal. The area is also known as the Nautical Quarter due to its historical links with sailors.

The passes will be available in the PTA’s dedicated crew lounge, which was opened inside the terminal last year to provide crew with free wifi, multiple electricity points, seating areas and refreshments.

“The pass is a next step in recognising the crew as the city’s ambassadors,” said the PTA in a statement. “This first edition is a good start and we have faith that for the next season, more companies will participate in the project.”
