AmaDolce departed on AmaWaterways’ first-ever ‘Taste of Bordeaux’ itinerary on 29 March.

Available from March to November 2016, AmaDolce’s seven-night ‘Taste of Bordeaux’ itineraries take guests through France’s wine region on the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. Highlights include visits to Cadillac’s Roquetaillaide Castle, a Grand Cru Classé wine tasting in Pauillac, an excursion at Château de Montaigne in Libourne and more. Optional pre- and/or post-cruise land extensions are available and include city tours in Paris and additional château visits and wine tastings in the Loire Valley. Ten of AmaWaterways’ 24 ‘Taste of Bordeaux’ sailings will be special wine-themed voyages.

“This has been an exciting month for AmaWaterways, with the launch of our brand new AmaStella and now, the debut of our ‘Taste of Bordeaux’ itinerary aboard the beautiful AmaDolce,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “Each year, we consider guest and travel agent feedback as we look to expand into new destinations. Bordeaux has consistently come back as a destination of interest and we are thrilled to now offer breathtaking sailings in this incredible region of the world.”

AmaDolce features staterooms with French balconies, spacious marble-appointed bathrooms and Entertainment on Demand systems, giving travellers complimentary access to the internet, the latest movies, music libraries and more. The vessel also offers dining venues, a fitness room with sauna, a walking track, hair and nail services, and nightly entertainment in the main lounge. Complimentary unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks are available with lunch and dinner, while free bottled water is provided daily in all staterooms.
