AmaWaterways has named co-president of Ensemble Travel Group Libbie Rice as godmother of AmaMora, one of three new river cruise ships that will join its fleet in 2019.

Rice will bless the 156-passenger ship alongside AmaWaterways’ executive team and local dignitaries during a christening ceremony in Lahnstein, Germany on the week of 15 July.

“I’m deeply honoured to have been chosen to serve as the godmother of this very special ship,” said Rice. “Travel is such a rewarding experience, and AmaWaterways is a true leader in delivering extraordinary river cruise vacations. This ship will provide guests with the opportunity to create memorable experiences to last a lifetime, and I could not be more proud to be a part of that legacy.”

Rice was chosen as godmother in recognition of her 15 years in the travel industry.

“We are delighted to have Libbie join the AmaWaterways family as godmother of the beautiful AmaMora,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-owner of AmaWaterways. “Libbie is an extraordinary travel professional with incredible knowledge and experience, as well as an avid world traveller, which makes her the perfect choice to fill this exciting role. We’re looking forward to celebrating with her on board next year.”

Designed as a sister to the recently launched AmaLea, the new AmaMora will offer 78 staterooms (most with AmaWaterways’ signature twin balconies), a main restaurant, the Chef’s Table Restaurant, a 24-hour coffee station, a fitness centre, and a heated Sun Deck pool with a swim-up bar. Guests will also benefit from massage and hair salon services, complimentary wi-fi, in-room Entertainment On Demand and onboard wellness activities and fitness classes led by dedicated Wellness Hosts. Like all other AmaWaterways ships, AmaMora will carry a fleet of complimentary bicycles for guests to use onshore.

AmaMora will embark on her maiden cruise on 3 June and sail 20 seven-night ‘Enchanting Rhine’ and ‘Captivating Rhine’ itineraries between Basel, Sweden and Amsterdam, Netherlands. The ship will also sail the ‘Christmas Markets on the Rhine’ itineraries between 25 November and 23 December.
