Seabourn Cruises has launched PressReader Offline, a customisable digital newspaper and magazine service, for guests sailing on its Odyssey-class ships.

Guests travelling on Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest can use the PressReader app to download complimentary, full editions of more than 2,500 global newspapers and magazines on personal iOS or Android mobile devices while in port or at sea. In addition, each ship will provide a small supply of tablets with the PressReader app pre-installed for guests who do not carry personal mobile devices.

“We pride ourselves on giving our guests the highest quality amenities, as well as all of the comforts of home during their holiday,” said Richard Meadows, Seabourn’s president. “With PressReader Offline, we are setting new standards for customer service by keeping our guests connected to the daily news and events from around the world – a service they’ve come to expect during their travels.”

Seabourn ships will download the requested content daily and store it on the ships’ local network, so guests can access the magazines without an internet connection. The app can be downloaded in advance of the cruise or while the guest is onboard the ship.

“We are happy to support Seabourn’s goal of providing the ultimate cruise experience and services to its guests,” said Igor Smirnoff, chief commercial officer of PressReader. “This is the first news service that solves the challenges of continuous access to a broadband network. Now guests can enjoy unlimited offline access to the latest publications at any time throughout their Seabourn holiday.”
