Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is to debut a new flexible cruise concept onboard Braemar when she sails a 15-night ‘You Choose Your Cruise’ itinerary in October 2015.

Every 48 hours, guests will be given the opportunity to vote for one of two destinations in Spain or Portugal, giving them the opportunity to exert some control over the ship’s itinerary after she departs Southampton on 10 October.

“This incredibly exciting and innovative cruise gives our guests the chance to ‘steer the ship’,” said Nathan Philpot, the line’s sales and marketing director. “At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, we are always striving to offer our guests a special cruise experience and I think that I can say with some confidence that this is certainly a very different type of holiday! And with a host of warm and sunny Mediterranean destinations to choose from, guests on board this fun cruise will not be disappointed.”

Initially, passengers can choose to sail to Vigo in Spain to visit its historic quarter Cidade Vella, or Lexioes in Portugal to visit Oporto. They can then choose to cruise to Gibraltar, or to Andalucian Malaga in Spain to visit the Alhambra Palace and Granada, before sailing to either Barcelona, or Palamós on the Spanish Costa Brava.
Other options include the choice of Valencia or Palma, Spain; Cartagena or Alicante, Spain; Andalusian Cadiz and Seville in Spain or Portimão in Portugal’s Algarve region; and finally Ferrol or La Coruna, Spain.
