Crystal Cruises is to introduce the new Stardust Supper Club experience onboard Crystal Serenity when she returns to service after her renovation on 10 November 2018.

To be hosted in the ship’s Stardust Club, the supper club will be offered to 108 guests on the first and final ‘Black Tie Optional’ evenings, which take place on cruises of eight days or more. Guests will be able to enjoy a four-course menu of select dishes from the new Waterside restaurant as they watch performances by Crystal Serenity’s Show Band and featured vocalists. In between performances, other musicians will play while the ship’s Ballroom Dance Quartet perform a couple of spotlight dances, including one during dessert and coffee where guests can join in.

The Stardust Club will be refurbished with a new dance floor, lighting, bar finishes and refreshed décor, as well as several behind-the-scenes enhancements to improve the overall entertainment experience.

“The Stardust Supper Club highlights the music and vibe of the exclusive clubs of the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin heyday, and perfectly complements the elegance of a formal evening aboard Crystal ships,” said Toni Neumeister, Crystal’s senior vice president of hotel operations. “In keeping with our commitment to offer guests choices to make the Crystal Experience their own, this new dining and entertainment experience is an intimate alternative to the grand occasions found in the Crystal Dining Room, which will be transformed into Waterside during the redesign.”

Other highlights of Crystal Serenity’s extensive renovation will include the addition of 36 new Seabreeze Penthouses and two new Seabreeze Penthouse Suites, which will effectively reduce her capacity from 1,070 guests to 980 guests. The Palm Court lounge will be upgraded with new finishes, carpets, more tables for two, sofas, wingback chairs with footstools, a modernised bar and a relocated stage.

Several dining venues will also be refurbished and rebranded. The Crystal Dining Room will be transformed into the Waterside restaurant, while Silk Road will be converted into Umi Uma & Sushi Bar, and Tastes will become Silk Kitchen & Bar and begin serving Chinese comfort food. The Lido Café will be changed into The Marketplace during the day and a Brazilian steakhouse named Churrascaria in the evening. Open seating dining will also debut onboard Crystal Serenity to give guests more flexibility when it comes to choosing when, where and with whom they dine.

In addition, the multi-purpose Studio and The Computer University@Sea and adjoining classroom will both receive new carpets, seating, 70-inch TVs and other equipment to improve how Crystal delivers its Creative Learning Institute and Crystal Visions Lecture Series.

Following her refurbishment, Crystal Serenity will sail from Lisbon, Portugal to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
